Plaza Cuartel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, is a historic former military garrison and memorial site. During World War II, approximately 150 American prisoners of war were burned alive here by Japanese forces on December 14, 1944; only 11 survived. Today, the plaza honors the victims and preserves the memory of one of Palawan’s darkest wartime events.
